Fr. Francis LeBlanc

He established Our Lady of the Sun International Shrine as a parish dedicated to preserving the Catholic Faith and the Tridentine Latin Mass.

Traditional Catholic

Father LeBlanc was born in Canada, and after his service as a military chaplain during WWII, he retired here in Phoenix. He was dedicated to saying the Latin Mass, and when he found parishioners who had a like mind, they built a Catholic church in El Mirage, Arizona to be used exclusively for the Latin Mass. His dream was to build a retirement center for older priests who wished to continue saying the Latin Mass, a convent for Sisters, a school for children, and a retirement home for the aged.

Groundbreaking

Our Lady of the Sun Catholic Church was built in 1987.
